Inspired by rugs originating in Morocco, a country in North Africa, modern day Moroccan rug designs have been updated in simply styled transitional patterns. Moroccan rugs are made from a blend of imported wool dyed into natural colors. The texture created by this blend of wool creates a unique style. Original Moroccan Azilal rugs were never washed. However, we have developed a technique of soft washing the rugs while leaving the texture intact. This results in beauty that blends well with both relaxed and informal home settings.
